Books4People: Discount Book Sets From the UK, Explained for US Readers

Discounts and Offers You Can Use Right Now

We checked the homepage and policy pages on October 9, 2026. Here is what we could confirm, with the limits that come with each offer. Books4People is a UK store, so US readers should read the fine print.

We found no coupon code on the shop's own site. Offers change often, so read the terms on the page before you check out.

How to Shop Books4People Step by Step

A cheap set only helps if the final bill stays low. Here is a simple plan for a US reader.

1. Pick one set and note its price in pounds.
2. Add it to your cart and view the full US total with shipping.
3. Compare that total with the same set at a local US store.
4. Bundle several sets only if the weight stays in a cheaper shipping tier.
5. Email support about import duties before you place a large order.

If the US total still beats your local price, you have a real saving.

Five Book Sets and Their Prices

We chose five sets for different readers. Prices are in pounds, as seen on October 9, 2026.

• Biff, Chip and Kipper Phonics Pack. This is a long-running British reading programme, and this is a six-book phonics pack. US schools teach phonics in their own order, so check the contents against what your child is learning.
• Ladybird First Favourite Tales. The listing shows 16 picture books of classic fairy tales. Fairy tales are shared across cultures, so the stories will feel familiar.
• Roald Dahl Collection. Sixteen books at that price come to about £1.69 each, by our own math. Dahl was a British author, but his books are widely read in the USA. This is the safest pick for a US household.
• Alex Rider Collection. This is a spy adventure series by Anthony Horowitz with 13 books in one bundle. It gives a reluctant reader a long run of stories in one go.
• The Witcher Series. This is the dearest of our five and has the smallest discount. That makes it a good test of whether the shop beats your local price. Compare it first.

We have not tested any of these books, so we cannot speak to print quality or binding.

What You Get When You Order

The main draw is a full British series in one box instead of one title at a time. The About page says the shop sells brand-new collections, though it does not say every item is new, so read each listing.

Every listing shows a was price, which is the shop's own comparison price. Treat it as a claim, not proof.

For US orders, delivery runs through USPS and takes 7 to 14 working days, according to the shipping policy. Returns are accepted within 30 days, and you pay the postage back.

What to Know Before You Buy: Shipping Math, Duties and Returns

• Shipping cost by weight. Up to 2.5kg is £13.99. Up to 5kg is £15.99. Up to 8kg is £17.99. Up to 11kg is £22.49.
• Shipping can eat the savings. Our cheapest set is £14.79, and the lowest USA shipping fee is £13.99. A cheap set can cost nearly as much again to ship to the USA.
• Weight limit. The shop only ships items under 11 kg. A 16-book set can be heavy, so shipping may take a large share of a cheap order.
• Currency. You pay in pounds, or you can switch the site currency selector to USD. The selector lists GBP, EUR and USD. We did not test whether USD pricing matches the pound price at a fair rate, so compare the totals.
• Import duties. The policy does not say who pays import duties or taxes on US orders. Ask support before you buy a large order.
• Returns. Returns are accepted within 30 days. The homepage says 30 days, while the policy says thirty working days. You pay to post items back to Leicester, which is costly from the USA, so think of a US order as a one-way trip.
• Reviews are mixed. Trustpilot reviewers praise set prices and friendly support. Others report damaged books, weak packing and poor tracking. These are third-party opinions that Trustpilot does not fact-check.

What Books4People Is

Books4People is a UK shop, so prices, spelling on some covers and shipping follow British habits. This shop tries to fix the cost of buying a Series One title at a time with box sets. We have not ordered from it or tested any book. This article reports what the shop's own homepage, About page and policy pages say, plus Trustpilot, which is a third party.

The shop is run by PCS Books Ltd in Leicester, England. It says it has traded since 2005 and sells new book set collections at up to 80% off the publisher's list price. It is best known for box sets and series bundles, mostly for children, plus adult fiction and non-fiction. Trustpilot shows 4.1 out of 5 from 680 reviews.

It makes the most sense if you want a full British series in one box. It fits parents buying for a child who can wait up to two weeks and shoppers who will bundle several sets so the weight tiers work in their favour. It fits less well if you need books this week, want cheap returns, only need one or two single titles, or dislike unclear import duty rules.

Final Verdict

Books4People gives US readers access to British box sets at sticker prices that look low. Shipping, possible duties and costly returns can change the final bill. View the full US total and compare it with a local store before you pay.
