Read This First
- It is an online pet pharmacy, not a vet. Prescription status is not checked at checkout, so the vet conversation is on you.
- Stock ships from overseas. Delivery takes longer than Chewy or Amazon, and packaging may differ from US versions.
- Heartworm products need a test first. Never start a dog on prevention without a negative test.
- The prices are real. Bravecto from $40.45, NexGard from $39.41, Simparica Trio from $36.29, and free shipping from $49.
Read with those four points in mind, and the rest of this review is about how to get the savings without the risks.

|---|---|---|
| Bravecto | Flea and tick, 3 months per chew | $40.45 |

Beyond dogs and cats, the site covers horses, birds, and racing pigeons, plus homeopathic and supplement ranges. Generic versions of some brands, such as Nuheart for Heartgard and Selehold for Revolution, sit alongside the originals at lower prices. Wormers like Drontal, Panacur, and Milbemax, and behavior aids like Adaptil and Feliway, round out the everyday list.
Shipping, Payment, and Delivery From DiscountPetCare
| Detail | What to Expect |
|---|---|
| Free shipping | US orders of $49 or more |
| Under $49 | $9.95 |
| Tracking | Optional, $5.99 |
| Dispatch | Same or next working day |
| Customs or duties | None charged to you |
| Cards accepted | Visa and Mastercard |
The mention of customs is your clue that stock ships from outside the US. Delivery takes longer than a domestic order, so buy before you run out, not the week you need it. Some banks add a small international transaction fee, which the FAQ explains is set by the bank, not the store.
Prescriptions and Your Vet: What to Know Before Ordering From DiscountPetCare
Some of these products are prescription-only in the US. Heartworm preventives in particular require a negative heartworm test before a dog starts them, because giving them to an infected dog can cause a serious reaction. Combination products like Simparica Trio fall into the same group.
Buying online does not change the medicine, but it does remove the check that a vet would normally do. Keep that check in place yourself.
- Test first: get the annual heartworm test before starting or restarting prevention
- Dose by weight: weigh your pet and buy the correct weight band, since packs are not interchangeable
- Check the packaging: overseas stock may carry different labels or languages, so match the active ingredient and dose to what your vet recommends
- Tell your vet: so your pet's records show what it is taking
- Cats need cat products: some dog flea treatments are dangerous to cats
What Buyers Report
The site publishes customer testimonials, and social feedback centers on price and on orders arriving in good order. The shopping experience is simple: pick the pet, pick the weight range, add to cart.
The points to plan around are the ones typical of overseas pet pharmacies. Delivery takes longer than Chewy or Amazon, tracking costs extra, and refunds go back to the original card within a few working days once approved. Orders can be changed or cancelled only before they ship, so double-check the weight band before you pay. Order early and the delay is not a problem.
DiscountPetCare vs. Chewy vs. Your Vet
| Parameter | DiscountPetCare | Chewy Pharmacy | Vet Clinic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | Low | Mid, lower with autoship | High |
| Prescription handling | Not verified at checkout | Verified with your vet | In person |
| Delivery speed | Slower, international | 1 to 3 days | Same day |
| Free shipping | From $49 | From $49 | Not applicable |
| Repeat delivery | Yes | Autoship with discount | Reminders |
| Best for | Lowest price on known products | Convenience with vet check | Full care |
The honest comparison is price against oversight. DiscountPetCare wins on price. Chewy and your vet keep the prescription check in the loop. A sensible middle path is to get the test and recommendation from the vet, then buy the year's supply here.
Which Product for Which Pet
| Situation | Product to Look At | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Dog, fleas and ticks, fewest doses | Bravecto | One chew covers three months |
| Dog, fleas and ticks, monthly chew | NexGard | Easy to give with food |
| Dog, everything in one | Simparica Trio | Heartworm test needed first |
| Dog, heartworm only | Heartgard Plus or Nuheart | Heartworm test needed first |
| Cat, fleas, heartworm, and mites | Revolution Plus | Cat-specific, never use dog products |
| Cat, worms | Profender, Milbemax, or Drontal | Match to weight |
| Any pet, long-term flea and tick | Seresto collar | Eight months per collar |
Always match the weight band to a current weight, and clear any heartworm product with your vet before the first dose.

Final Verdict
DiscountPetCare is a real money-saver on parasite prevention if you already know exactly what your pet needs. The prices are among the lowest available, and free shipping from $49 is easy to reach.
Keep your vet in the loop, test before heartworm prevention, buy the right weight band, and order early. Do that, and the savings are worth the extra planning.
